Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, S-PPM and PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers; Camira Era, Camira Yoredale boucle and the off-white boucle are woven fabrics; Camira Blazer wool and genuine leather are the premium tier. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Patara Wire is the lightest-looking Patara and the most colorful: the winged seat rides on a sled base bent from solid steel wire, offered in chrome, black, white, bone, red, gold or brass. A sled base glides rather than digs, so it slides smoothly over rugs and is gentle on floors in homes and cafes alike. The open wire frame keeps sightlines clear across a room, which helps smaller kitchens and glass-walled dining areas feel larger. As on every Patara, the seat is a sprung steel frame in molded foam with a removable cushion and a zip-on cover.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

What is a sled base?

Two continuous runners of bent solid wire instead of four separate legs. It glides over rugs and spreads weight on the floor.

Which wire colors are offered?

Chrome, black, white, bone, red, gold and brass.

Is it suitable for restaurants?

Yes. It is rated for 300 lb and Patara is built for residential and commercial use.

Does it swivel?

No. The wire sled is a fixed base. For a swivel Patara see the 4 Star, Round, Stick, Sword or Spider.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather is the lowest-priced seat. PPM, S-PPM, PPM-FR, boucle and Camira Era fabric sit in the middle tier, and Camira Blazer wool and genuine leather are the top tier. Gold and brass wire add a small surcharge; the other colors do not.

Can it be made in my own fabric?

Yes: 1.8 yd of fabric or 32 sq ft of leather. Contact us for customer's-own-material orders.
