The Palermo is a dining-height teak armchair that stacks four high, which makes it the practical pick for restaurant patios and cafés that clear the terrace at night. A solid grade A teak frame carries a woven rope seat and a rope back panel, so there is no cushion to collect water and the chair dries quickly. The seat sits at 19 in for standard dining tables, and the arms at 25.5 in slide under most table aprons. At home it brings a relaxed, Scandinavian look to a patio set or a dining room.

Care

Grade A teak is a naturally oily, weather-resistant hardwood. Left outdoors it slowly weathers to a soft silver-grey, and the grain may rise slightly after the first few soakings. Clean it once or twice a year with a soft brush, mild soap and water; never use a power washer, which erodes the surface. Teak cannot be painted or varnished. For winter storage use a dry shed or garage, and do not move the piece straight from the cold into a heated room, as sudden changes in temperature and humidity can split the wood. Wipe the woven rope with a damp cloth and mild soap, rinse, and let it air-dry in the open.
