Seat upholstery. Nubuck PPM is a polyurethane performance leather with a soft, brushed nubuck feel that wipes clean like smooth PPM. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Frame finishes

Monaco is a full dining armchair in solid ash, with softly tapered legs that rise into shaped armrests and a curved upholstered back pad held between two posts. The seat and back are covered in nubuck PPM, a brushed-feel performance leather that wipes clean, so the chair works at a family table as well as in a hotel restaurant. Its 19 in seat and 24 in depth make it a roomy chair for long dinners, and the open frame keeps it from looking heavy around the table. Choose the walnut-finished ash shown in our photos or a black-finished frame for a darker Scandinavian look.

Where to use it

• Head-of-table and everyday dining seats where armrests matter
• Hotel restaurants and private dining rooms
• A desk or reading-nook chair that matches the dining set
• Scandinavian, Japandi and Transitional interiors

Planning notes

• The 19 in seat suits dining tables of 29 to 31 in; check that the 21 in wide arms clear your table apron.
• Allow about 26 in of table length per armchair.
• The 24 in depth needs roughly 36 in behind the table edge to pull out comfortably.
• For a lighter side chair in the same spirit, see the Paros dining chair.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Who it is not for

• Tight banquette or bench layouts where armchairs will not slide under the table
• Counter or bar heights
• Outdoor use

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Monaco chair have arms?

Yes. The solid ash frame curves into two shaped armrests, and the arms sit at the height of most dining table aprons.

What table height does it fit?

The seat is 19 in high, which suits dining tables of 29 to 31 in. Check that the armrests clear your table apron.

What is nubuck PPM?

It is a polyurethane performance leather with a brushed, suede-like surface. It feels soft but wipes clean with a damp cloth.

How much weight does it hold?

The Monaco armchair is rated for 350 lb.

Why do some options cost more?

Both nubuck PPM colors share one price on either frame finish. Full-grain Italian leather and Camira Blazer wool are special orders at a higher price; contact us for those.

Is the black frame shown in the photos?

Our photos show the walnut-finished ash frame. The black-finished ash frame is the same chair in a darker finish; see the frame swatch above.
