Base finishes

The Martini Wire is a counter or bar stool that pairs a sprung, bucket-shaped Martini seat with a base drawn from solid steel rod. The open wire frame keeps the stool visually light, so a row of four or five along an island reads as line work rather than bulk, and the welded wire stretcher doubles as a footrest. Each leg ends in a plastic glide set into the rod to protect hard floors. Pick chrome, black, white or bone for a quiet kitchen, or gold plating when the stool should be the jewelry of the room. Every Martini Wire Counter or Bar Stool is built on a steel seat frame with S-shaped springs set in molded polyurethane foam, with a removable Velcro-fastened slipcover.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Allow about 22 to 24 in of counter length per stool; the wire base is narrow at the floor.
• The welded wire stretcher is the footrest, so there is no separate ring to clean around.
• The plastic glides protect wood and tile; add felt pads if you slide stools often on soft wood.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

Counter or bar height?

The counter version has a 23.5 in seat for 35 to 37 in counters. The bar version has a 29 in seat for 40 to 42 in bar tops.

Is the wire base sturdy?

Yes. It is made from solid steel rod, not tube, and the stool is rated for 300 lb.

Does it have a footrest?

Yes. The wire stretcher between the legs is placed to work as a footrest.

Will it scratch my floors?

Each leg is tipped with a plastic glide set into the rod, which protects tile, stone and sealed wood.

Why do the prices differ?

PPM, PPM-S and Camira Era seats cost less than Camira Blazer wool seats. The gold-plated base costs more than the chrome, black, white and bone finishes.

Does the seat swivel?

No. The Martini Wire is a fixed stool. For a swivel seat at the same heights, look at the Martini Max Swivel stool.
