Size and Finish. HPL is high-pressure laminate printed with a marble look. The edged tops are 1.4 in thick on an MDF core with an aluminum edge in gold or stainless finish; the compact tops are 0.47 in solid HPL. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.
Top finishes

HPL laminate tops are the workhorse choice for restaurant and cafe tables: they give a white or black marble look with a surface that shrugs off stains, heat marks and constant wiping. The edged tops are 1.4 in thick, an MDF core wrapped in high-pressure laminate and finished with an aluminum band in gold or stainless finish, and the underside is laminated too for a clean look. The compact squares are 0.47 in solid HPL with no core at all, so they are thin, tough and moisture resistant. Choose round or square to fit a Tango, Daisy or Lamer base.

Care
Wipe with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water or a mild household cleaner, then dry. HPL resists stains and heat marks, but use trivets for very hot pans and skip abrasive pads, which can dull the surface. Wipe the metal edge with a dry cloth.

Frequently asked questions
What is HPL?
HPL is high-pressure laminate, a dense, hard-wearing surface printed here with a marble look. It resists stains, scratches and heat marks better than real marble.
What is the difference between edged and compact tops?
Edged tops are 1.4 in thick with an MDF core and a gold or stainless aluminum edge. Compact tops are 0.47 in solid HPL with no core, thinner and more moisture resistant.
Which bases fit?
The tops fit the Tango and Daisy bases and the Lamer commercial base.
Does the edge color change?
Yes. Black marble-look edged tops have a gold-finish edge; white marble-look edged tops have a stainless-finish edge.
Why do the prices differ?
The 27 in round and square edged tops cost the least, the 36 in round costs more, and the compact squares sit between, with the larger compact squares costing the most.
Is it good for restaurants?
Yes. HPL is a commercial surface made for heavy daily wiping and cleaning.
