The Hatay Dining Chair wraps a woven cane back around the seat in one continuous curve, a Scandinavian retro shape that looks as good from behind as from the table. On this version both the seat and the back are synthetic cane webbing, so the chair stays light and airy and lets a patterned rug or wood floor show through. The frame is solid sungkai wood in a walnut finish, with straight, slightly splayed legs that sit steady on hard floors. It is made for homes: breakfast rooms, dining rooms and sunrooms where a cane chair softens a modern table.

Care

Dust the cane with a soft brush or the brush head of a vacuum, and wipe it with a barely damp cloth only when needed; let it dry naturally and keep the chair away from radiators and strong direct sun, which make cane brittle. Wipe the seat with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Dust the wood with a dry cloth. Cane and wood vary naturally in tone from piece to piece.
