Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry seat. PPM and PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers, nubuck is a soft brushed fabric and the off-white boucle is a looped fabric. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric, Camira Blazer is a wool cloth, and the caramel option is full-grain Italian leather. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Gazel Wire pairs the rounded Gazel shell with a sled base bent from solid steel wire, so the chair reads light from every side of the table. The sled runners spread the load along the floor and carry plastic glides set into the wire, which makes the chair easy to slide on hard floors and steady on low-pile rugs. Under the upholstery is a steel seat frame with S-shaped springs, molded in injected polyurethane foam. Pick chrome, black, white, bone, red or gold for the wire, and a seat from faux leather through Camira wool and Italian leather.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Is the wire base a sled or four legs?

It is a sled: two continuous runners bent from solid steel wire, with plastic glides set into the wire.

Will the sled base scratch my floor?

The runners sit on plastic glides embedded in the wire, so the metal does not touch the floor. Felt pads can be added for delicate wood.

Which wire colors can I choose?

Chrome, black, white, bone, red powder coat, or gold plating.

How much weight does the Gazel Wire hold?

The chair is rated for 350 lb.

Why does the price change between options?

Faux leather is the lowest-priced seat. PPM, nubuck, boucle and Camira Era are the middle tier, and Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather are the top tier. The gold-plated base carries a surcharge over the other wire colors.

Can I re-cover the seat later?

Yes. The upholstery is a removable slipcover that can be replaced with professional help.
