Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM is a polyurethane performance leather, PPM-FR is its flame-retardant version, nubuck is a soft brushed finish and the off-white seat is a looped boucle. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric, Camira Blazer is a wool contract fabric, and the caramel seat is full-grain Italian leather. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg finishes

The Gazel Star armchair perches the curved Gazel shell on four splayed legs that angle out from a central hub, a light, Mid-Century stance that suits dining rooms and cafes. Choose plain steel tube in black, gold or stainless steel, or legs in walnut or natural veneer; a black base with a gold ring or a walnut base with a stainless ring adds a metal halo under the seat. Adjustable caps on the feet level the chair on uneven floors, and an optional memory swivel turns the seat and brings it back to the table. The seat itself is a sprung steel frame molded in polyurethane foam, finished with a removable slipcover.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

What are the adjustable caps for?

They are leveling feet. Turning a cap lifts or lowers that leg so the chair sits flat on an uneven floor.

What is the ring option?

A metal ring joins the four legs below the seat: gold on the black base, or stainless steel on the walnut base. It adds visual detail and stiffens the base.

Can it swivel?

Yes, with the memory swivel option. The seat turns and then returns to face forward; it adds about 1 in to the seat height.
