Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM is a polyurethane performance leather, PPM-FR is its flame-retardant version, nubuck is a soft brushed finish, and the off-white and blue Camira Yoredale seats are boucle weaves. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric, Camira Blazer is a wool contract fabric, and the caramel seat is full-grain Italian leather. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Gazel Arm Wire stool sets the armed Gazel seat on a sled base formed from solid steel wire, with the front of the sled doubling as a foot rail. It suits restaurants and bars because the sled slides easily on hard floors and rugs, and the arms keep guests comfortable through a long evening. Five wire finishes are offered, chrome, black, white, bone and gold, so the base can blend in or stand out. Its seat hides S-shaped springs in a steel frame wrapped in molded foam, and the slipcover comes off for cleaning or replacement.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar for 39 to 41 in bar tops.
• Allow about 24 in per stool, plus room behind for the sled to slide out.
• Arms add comfort but limit how far the stool tucks under a counter.
• Gold is the one finish with an upcharge.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
