Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, PPM-S and PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers that wipe clean; the beige boucle is a soft looped fabric. Camira Blazer is a contract-grade wool, and genuine leather is the top tier. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Eiffel Spider puts the dining-height Eiffel shell on a cast aluminum five-star swivel base, which makes it the Eiffel to choose for a desk, a home office or a conference room that doubles as a dining room. Order it on glides for a dining or meeting table, or add office casters so it rolls; the casters raise the seat by about 2 in, to 19 in. The base comes in polished aluminum, black or brass-finished aluminum. Comfort comes from S-shaped springs in a steel seat frame topped with molded foam; the cover is a removable slipcover.

Planning notes

• On glides the seat is 17 in high, right for 29 to 30 in tables; with casters it rises to about 19 in, which suits 30 in desks.
• Use casters on hard floors or with a chair mat; glides are better if the chair should stay put at a dining table.
• The five-star base needs about 26 in of floor; plan table spacing accordingly.
• This base swivels but does not adjust in height.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
