Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, PPM-S, S-PPM and Italian PPM are polyurethane performance leathers, and boucle is a soft looped fabric. Camira Blazer wool, genuine leather and top-grain leather are the premium seats. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Eiffel Arm MW sets the winged Eiffel armchair on the MW base: four splayed steel legs braced underneath by a wire cradle, a nod to Mid-Century dining chairs. Choose solid black or stainless steel legs, or steel legs wrapped in walnut or natural wood veneer for a warmer look at the table. Order it as a fixed chair, or add the memory swivel mechanism so the seat turns and returns to face the table when you stand up. The seat itself is a sprung steel frame in molded foam, covered with a removable Velcro slipcover.

Planning notes

• The fixed chair has a 17.5 in seat for 29 to 30 in tables; the memory swivel adds 1 in to the seat height.
• The memory swivel returns the seat to its starting position, which keeps a row of chairs neat after service.
• Allow about 24 in of table edge per chair.
• Veneer legs are steel underneath, so they are as strong as the metal finishes.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

What does the memory swivel do?

The seat turns freely and, once you get up, rotates back to its original position so the chair faces the table again. It raises the seat by 1 in.

Are the walnut and natural legs solid wood?

No. They are steel legs wrapped in real wood veneer, so you get the look of wood with the strength of steel.

What table height does it suit?

The 17.5 in seat suits standard 29 to 30 in dining tables. With the memory swivel the seat sits at about 18.5 in.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost the least, PPM and boucle seats are in the middle, and Camira Blazer wool and leather seats cost the most. The memory swivel mechanism is an added-cost option; all four base finishes are the same price.
