Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM and the flame-retardant PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric, and Camira Blazer and Zap are wool upholstery fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Dallas Baba sets the padded Dallas seat on the Baba frame: four sturdy, slightly splayed solid wood legs joined by an H of stretchers. The thicker legs give it a grounded, farmhouse-meets-modern look that works with chunky wood tables and open shelving. Choose teak in a dark wenge finish or sungkai in a light white oak finish, and add a memory swivel if you want the seat to turn and return to center. The seat itself has a sprung steel frame under molded foam and a removable Velcro slipcover.

• The counter stool's 24 in seat suits 35 to 37 in counters; the bar stool's 29 in seat suits 40 to 42 in bars. The memory swivel adds about 1 in.
• At 14.5 in wide, plan about 20 in of counter per stool.
• Dark teak wenge hides wear in busy households; sungkai white oak keeps small kitchens bright.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

What do the two leg finishes look like?

Teak in a wenge finish is a deep, near-black brown. Sungkai in a white oak finish is light and natural.

Does it swivel?

Only with the optional memory swivel, which turns the seat and returns it to its starting position. It adds about 1 in to the seat height.

Is there a version with a wood seat?

Yes. Cattelan Baba uses the same legs with a carved solid wood seat and no upholstery.
