Seat. Every Cattelan seat is carved from one solid hardwood: antique-brushed ash, sungkai, mindi in a wenge finish, teak in a walnut finish, or American walnut, which costs a little more. Grain and tone vary from seat to seat, and screens show wood slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The full-footrest Cattelan Piston surrounds the gas-lift column with a complete steel ring, so your feet find support whichever way the seat is turned. That makes it the most comfortable of the piston bases for long sittings at a bar or a standing-height desk. The carved solid wood seat adjusts from 20.5 to 31 in with a lever and swivels freely. The round base comes in polished stainless steel, brushed stainless steel or black.

Care

Dust the solid wood seat with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth, then dry. Avoid soaking the wood, harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. Wipe the base with a soft, dry cloth. Each seat is cut from solid wood, so grain and color vary naturally from stool to stool.
