Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM-FR, S-PPM and PPM are polyurethane performance leathers that wipe clean; the off-white boucle is a soft looped fabric; Camira Era and Camira Blazer wool are woven contract fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Avanos Wire is the lightest-looking way to put the upholstered Avanos shell at a table: the seat floats on a sled bent from solid steel wire. Because the sled runs along the floor instead of standing on four points, the chair spreads its load, slides easily on rugs and does not catch in carpet. The wire comes in chrome, black, white, bone, red or gold, so it can disappear into a quiet room or become the accent color. It is also the most affordable Avanos dining chair, with a 300 lb rating.

• The sled runners are about chair width; allow roughly 24 in per chair along the table.
• Use the red, white or bone wire to pick up an accent color; chrome and black read neutral.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

What is a sled base?

Instead of four separate legs, the base is one continuous loop of steel wire that rests on the floor in two runners. It spreads the load and slides easily.

Does it work on rugs?

Yes. The runners glide over rugs and carpet instead of sinking in the way narrow legs can.

What table height does it suit?

The seat is 18 in high, a good match for 28 to 30 in tables.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost least, PPM, S-PPM, PPM-FR, boucle and Camira Era cost a little more, and Camira Blazer wool costs the most. The gold-plated wire also adds to the price; chrome, black, white, bone and red cost the same.

Can I order my own fabric?

Yes. You need 1.55 yd of fabric or 25 sq ft of leather for customer’s own material.
