Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM-FR, S-PPM and PPM are polyurethane performance leathers that wipe clean; the off-white boucle is a soft looped fabric; Camira Era and Camira Blazer wool are woven contract fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg finishes

The Avanos Pyramid puts a swivel under the Avanos shell without giving up the warmth of wood. Four solid wood legs angle in to meet at a swivel plate under the seat, forming a pyramid that turns smoothly so you can face the table, the room or a guest without dragging the chair. Choose walnut-finish beech, pale natural ash or solid American walnut. The fiberglass shell with its padded plywood seat is rated for 350 lb, more than most swivel dining chairs.

• The swivel lets guests turn instead of sliding the chair back, which saves floor space in tight dining rooms.
• The four wood feet sit wider than the seat; allow about 24 in per chair.
• Use felt pads on wood floors.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Who it is not for

• Anyone who wants a metal base: see the Avanos Stick or Sword swivel chairs
• Rooms that need a chair that stays fixed in place
• Outdoor use

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Frequently asked questions

Does the chair swivel?

Yes. The four legs meet at a swivel plate under the seat, so the seat turns a full circle while the base stays put.

Is the base solid wood?

Yes. It is solid beech in a walnut finish, solid natural ash or solid American walnut.

How much weight does it hold?

This model is rated for 350 lb.

What table height does it suit?

The 19 in seat suits standard 29 to 30 in dining tables.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost least, PPM, S-PPM, PPM-FR, boucle and Camira Era a little more, and Camira Blazer wool the most. Solid American walnut also costs more than beech or ash.

Is there a matching stool?

Yes. The Avanos Pyramid Wood swivel stool uses the same base idea at counter and bar height.
