Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, PPM-FR and PPM-S are polyurethane performance leathers, the black boucle is a looped, textured fabric, and Camira Blazer is a woven wool contract fabric. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg finishes

The Athena Pyramid stool takes the swivel pyramid base up to counter or bar height: four splayed solid wood legs meet under the seat at a swivel mechanism, with a metal footrest ring tying them together halfway down. You get the comfort of the full Athena armchair shell at a kitchen island, which makes long breakfasts and homework sessions easier than on a backless stool. Choose walnut-finish beech or natural ash with a chrome ring, or American walnut with either a white mechanism and chrome ring or a black mechanism and gold ring. A steel frame with S-shaped springs, molded in injected foam, keeps the seat supportive through long breakfasts at the counter.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter (24.5 in seat) for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar (29.5 in seat) for 40 to 42 in bars.
• The armchair shell is 22 in wide; allow about 26 in of counter edge per stool.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the counter underside for knees.
• The metal footrest takes wear that would mark a wood rung.
• Shipping: in-stock stools ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Counter or bar height?

Counter stools have a 24.5 in seat for 35 to 37 in counters. Bar stools have a 29.5 in seat for 40 to 42 in bars.

Does it swivel?

Yes. The seat swivels on a mechanism where the four wood legs meet.

Does it have a footrest?

Yes. Every version has a metal footrest ring: chrome on beech, ash and the white-mechanism walnut base, gold on the black-mechanism walnut base.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Why do the prices differ between options?

Faux leather costs least. PPM, PPM-FR, PPM-S and boucle cost more, and Camira Blazer wool is the top tier. Both American walnut bases add a surcharge.

Will the legs mark my floor?

Each leg has a glide. Check and replace them when worn to protect wood and tile.
