Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, PPM-FR and PPM-S are polyurethane performance leathers, the black boucle is a looped, textured fabric, and Camira Blazer is a woven wool contract fabric. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg finishes

The Athena Pyramid sets the curved Athena armchair on four splayed solid wood legs that meet under the seat at a swivel plate. You get the warmth of a wood-legged dining chair with the ease of a seat that turns toward the conversation. Pick walnut-finish beech, pale natural ash for Scandinavian rooms, or solid American walnut for a richer Mid-Century grain. The shell is a sprung steel frame molded in polyurethane foam, so it stays comfortable through long dinners.

Where to use it

• Dining rooms with wood tables and floors
• Scandinavian and Mid-Century living-dining spaces
• Home offices that want a softer, wood-legged swivel
• Reading corners next to a side table

Planning notes

• The 19 in seat suits a 29 to 30 in dining table.
• Splayed legs need about 24 in per chair along the table; plan one fewer chair than with straight legs.
• Felt or plastic glides under the legs protect wood floors; check them yearly.
• Natural ash is pale and shows the grain; walnut tones hide everyday marks better.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Who it is not for

• Restaurants and contract seating: the maker rates this swivel for residential use; see the Athena Round
• Rolling desk use: see the Athena Spider with casters
• Outdoor use

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

The seat is 19 in high, right for a 29 to 30 in table.
