Base finishes

The Athena Piston puts the full Athena armchair shell on a gas-lift column, so one stool covers both counter and bar height: a lever under the seat moves it anywhere from 21 to 31 in. A full footrest ring circles the column, and a heavy round base keeps it steady while the seat swivels. That makes it the easy answer when you are not sure of your counter height, or when people of different heights share an island. Choose polished or brushed stainless steel, or black. The seat itself is a steel frame with S-shaped springs encased in injected polyurethane foam.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
