Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, PPM-S and Italian PPM are polyurethane performance leathers; nubuck, boucle, Camira fabrics and wool give a softer, textured seat; Camira Blazer wool and black full-grain leather are the premium covers. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

On the Aria Sled, the squared Aria seat rides on a bent steel sled whose two runners replace four separate feet. The runners glide on carpet and rugs, distribute weight evenly and give the chair a crisp, graphic profile from the side. Finish the sled in chrome, stainless steel or gold brass. The seat is sprung inside a steel frame molded in polyurethane foam, with a Velcro-fastened slipcover, and it is rated for 350 lb.

Planning notes

• Plan about 22 to 24 in of table edge per chair.
• The 18 in seat suits 29 to 30 in tables.
• Check that table legs or a pedestal leave room for the sled runners to slide under.
• Gold brass pairs well with warm PPM and wool seats such as caramel, amber and cognac.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Will the runners mark wood floors?

The sled has plastic glides. On soft or newly finished wood, add felt pads under them.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather is the lowest tier, the PPM, nubuck, boucle and fabric seats are the middle tier, and Camira Blazer wool and full-grain leather are the top tier. The gold brass sled adds a surcharge.

Do I need to assemble it?

The seat attaches to the sled base; we can help with any assembly questions when you order.
