Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM, PPM-S and Italian PPM are polyurethane performance leathers; nubuck, boucle, Camira fabrics and wool give a softer, textured seat; Camira Blazer wool and black full-grain leather are the premium covers. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finish

The Aria Flat is built on a base of solid flat steel bar, polished to a chrome finish and bent into a sled with a crisp, ribbon-like profile. Because the steel is solid rather than tubular, the base is heavier (the chair weighs 30 lb) and feels planted at the table. It is the most architectural of the Aria chairs, at home in galleries, design studios and Minimalist dining rooms. The sprung Aria seat has a molded foam shell and a Velcro-fastened slipcover in 39 colors.

• At 30 lb it is heavier than the tube-steel Aria Sled; it stays put but takes more effort to move.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
