Leg finishes

The Amed Wood stool brings the Amed seat up to counter or bar height on solid wood legs, for kitchen islands, home bars and restaurant counters that want warmth rather than metal. Choose beech in walnut or wenge, solid American walnut, natural sandblasted ash, a walnut-finish base with a chrome footrest ring, or black sandblasted ash with a brass footrest. The seat is built on a steel frame with S-shaped springs and molded polyurethane foam, under a removable Velcro-fastened slipcover.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters and kitchen islands; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Allow about 24 in of counter edge per stool.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the underside of the counter for knees.
• The chrome-ring and brass-footrest bases give your feet a durable metal rest where wood rungs would wear.
• Shipping: in-stock stools ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum Camira Era fabric regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Frequently asked questions

Counter or bar height?

Counter stools have a 24 in seat for 35 to 37 in counters and islands. Bar stools have a 29 in seat for 40 to 42 in bar tops.

Which base has a metal footrest?

The walnut-finish beech base with chrome ring and the black sandblasted ash base with brass footrest both have a metal foot rail.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 400 lb.

Can the cover be replaced?

Yes. The upholstery is a slipcover held with Velcro, so it can be removed and replaced.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost less than S-PPM, nubuck PPM and Camira Era seats. Solid American walnut and the chrome ring each add to the price.

Can I order a different fabric?

It can be made in your own material: 1.6 yd of fabric or 23 sq ft of leather. Contact us for customer's-own-material orders.
