Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. S-PPM and nubuck PPM are polyurethane performance leathers. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Amed Spider puts the Amed seat on a four-star aluminum swivel base, for dining tables, home offices and conference rooms where you want to turn without pushing the chair back. Order it on glides for a dining room, or add office casters to roll it around a desk. The seat and back are built on a steel frame with S-shaped springs and molded polyurethane foam, and the upholstery is a removable slipcover.

Where to use it

• Dining tables where you want to swivel in and out
• Home offices and study desks (with casters)
• Conference and meeting rooms

Planning notes

• On glides, the 17.5 in seat suits a standard 28 to 30 in table. Casters raise the seat to 19.5 in.
• Choose casters for desks and hard floors; choose glides for dining, where a rolling chair can drift.
• Allow about 26 in of table edge per chair so neighbors can swivel freely.
• Faux leather and the PPM leathers wipe clean. Camira Era fabric gives a softer, warmer look.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Who it is not for

• Counter or bar seating
• Rooms that need armrests
• Anyone who needs adjustable seat height: the height is fixed. See the Amed Office Chair.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum Camira Era fabric regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

Does it swivel?

Yes. The four-star aluminum base swivels 360 degrees.

Should I choose glides or casters?

Glides keep the chair in place at a dining table. Office casters let it roll at a desk, and they raise the seat by 2 in, to 19.5 in.

Is the height adjustable?

No. The seat height is fixed at 17.5 in on glides and 19.5 in with casters.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 350 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost less than S-PPM, nubuck PPM and Camira Era seats. The brass base and office casters each add to the price.

Can I order a different fabric?

It can be made in your own material: 1.6 yd of fabric or 23 sq ft of leather. Contact us for customer's-own-material orders.

Please note: Because this item is made to order or specially sourced, it is final sale.
