Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM-FR is a flame-retardant polyurethane performance leather, velvet and boucle are soft, textured fabrics, and Camira Blazer is a wool contract fabric. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Amed+ Spider mounts the wide Amed+ seat on a four-star cast aluminum base that swivels a full circle, so you can turn from the table to the room without dragging the chair. On glides it stays put at a dining or conference table; add office casters and it rolls between desk and printer, with the seat rising from 18 to 20.5 in. The base comes in polished aluminum, black or a brass finish. The seat is the same sprung, foam-molded Amed+ shell with a Velcro slipcover, rated here for 400 lb.

Planning notes

• On glides, the 18 in seat suits 29 to 30 in tables; casters raise it to 20.5 in, better for 30 in desks.
• Choose glides for dining so the chair does not drift; choose casters for desks and hard floors.

• On carpet, casters roll more easily than glides slide.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
