Leg finishes

The Amed Metal puts the Amed seat on four slim steel legs, for kitchens, dining rooms and cafés that want a light, easy-to-move chair with a fully upholstered seat. The seat and back are built on a steel frame with S-shaped springs and molded polyurethane foam. Legs come in chrome, stainless steel or black, or in chrome or brass with adjuster caps that level the chair on an uneven floor. The upholstery is a removable slipcover held with Velcro.

• Allow about 24 in of table edge per chair.
• The 18 in seat height suits a standard 29 to 30 in dining table.
• Choose the adjuster-cap legs if your floor is uneven; the caps let you level the chair.
• Rated for 300 lb. For heavier commercial use, the Amed MW (400 lb) or the Amed Wood with stretchers (400 lb) are stronger choices.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum Camira Era fabric regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit at my dining table?

The seat is 18 in high, which suits standard 29 to 30 in tables. The chair is 17 in wide, so most tables take one chair per 24 in of edge.

What are adjuster caps?

They are adjustable feet at the bottom of the legs. Turning them levels the chair on an uneven floor so it does not rock.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Can the cover be replaced?

Yes. The upholstery is a slipcover held with Velcro, so it can be removed and replaced.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost less than S-PPM, nubuck PPM and Camira Era seats. The chrome and brass adjuster-cap legs add to the price.

Can I order a different fabric?

It can be made in your own material: 1.6 yd of fabric or 23 sq ft of leather. Contact us for customer's-own-material orders.
