Best for

Best for living rooms and dens, in front of the sofa. Leave about 16–18" between the sofa seat and the table edge and 30–36" for walkways, and choose a table about two-thirds the length of your sofa (our guide). This one: at 59.8" it suits a sofa about 84–96" long. An organic, free-form top softens a boxy room and works in front of a sofa or a sectional (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Loveseats and small apartments: at 59.8" it is sized for a sofa about 84" long or more (our guide: a coffee table about two-thirds of the sofa length).
• Heavy loads: TOV rates the top for up to 185 lb.
• Outdoor use: this is an indoor table; TOV makes separate indoor/outdoor concrete coffee tables.
