Pablo Swell XL String Wide 24 in Linkable Pendant Module, Damp-Rated and Dimmable

A 24 in pendant module that snaps into a string: link up to 34 lamps off one power feed to cover a long table, a bar run or a stairwell.

We recommend the XL String Wide when a room needs more than one or two fixtures but you want a single power point in the ceiling. Each wide dome plugs into the next through interconnectable sockets, and the string hangs vertically (cable included) or horizontally with an optional kit. The power feed is a separate item, so plan the order as modules plus one feed.

Best for / where to use it

• Long dining tables: three to five modules in a row replace a linear fixture, with one ceiling point.
• Bars and counters: a horizontal run follows the length of the bar.
• Stairwells and double-height entries: hang modules at staggered drops on the vertical kit.
• Restaurants, lobbies and retail: large domes read from across the room and repeat easily over many tables.
• Covered terraces: damp-rated for roofed outdoor areas.

Installation & planning

• Order a power feed (cord and canopy) plus the modules; the feed is not included with a single module.
• Hardwired: a licensed electrician should connect the feed to a ceiling box.
• Space lamps 22 to 28 in apart; at 24 in wide, each dome needs room at the sides.
• Choose vertical mounting (10 ft cable in the box) or the optional horizontal kit, which supports up to 12 lamps.
• Plan the circuit and dimmer for the full lamp count: 13 W per lamp, up to 34 lamps on one feed.

Who this is not for

• A single stand-alone pendant: the Swell Single sizes are simpler.
• Uncovered, rain-exposed locations: damp rated only.
• Low ceilings with foot traffic below the shades; 14 in of height plus cable drop needs clearance.
• Anyone wanting a plug-in fixture or warmer light as it dims.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to order besides the wide module?

A power feed with canopy, which is sold separately, and the number of modules your layout needs. Hanging is vertical with the included 10 ft cable, or horizontal with the optional kit.

How far apart should the domes hang?

Pablo gives a lamp spacing of 22 to 28 in (56 to 71 cm). With a 24 in shade, that leaves a gap of only a few inches between neighboring domes.

How many can one feed power?

Up to 34 lamps from a single power source. The optional horizontal kit supports up to 12 lamps.

How tall is the fixture, and how low can I hang it?

The dome is 14 in (36 cm) tall; the cable on the vertical kit runs up to 10 ft (305 cm). Over a table, leave enough drop that sight lines across the table stay open.

Can I put it on a covered patio?

Yes, if the area is roofed. The fixture is damp rated for indoor and covered outdoor use, but not wet rated.

Can I mix wide, medium and narrow domes?

Pablo describes Swell String as a modular system, and the XL sizes come in narrow, medium and wide. Ask us about a mixed layout and we will check which parts you need.
