Swell XL String 3 Mixed is a kit rather than a single lamp: three large shades, one power feed and the cable hardware to hang them vertically. The shades are mixed, so the group already has a variety of height and width when it arrives.

It suits stairwells, double-height entries, long bars and large dining rooms, indoors or on a covered terrace. The system is modular, so you can extend it later.

Installation & planning

• Layout first: the guide spaces each lamp 22 to 28 in (56 to 71 cm) apart and the first lamp within 120 in of the power source unless you add an extension cord.
• Install needs wire cutters and a Phillips screwdriver; Pablo recommends an electrician.
• The ceiling anchors tap in and cable locks set the length; cut spare cable afterward.
• Plug-in or hardwired power feed options are covered in the guide; follow the option that fits your ceiling.
• Never exceed 34 interconnected 14.5 W lamps or 500 W total on one feed.

Who this is not for

• Small rooms with low ceilings: the XL shades need space.
• Open-air, rain-exposed ceilings: damp rated only.
• Anyone expecting the horizontal kit in the box: it is sold separately.

How far apart should I hang the lamps?

Pablo's guide suggests 22 to 28 in (56 to 71 cm) between lamp centers. Decide the lowest lamp's height above the floor or table first, then lay out upward.

Can I run the lamps horizontally?

Yes, with the horizontal mounting kit (30 ft cable, supports 12 lamps). It is not included, so add it to your order.

How many lamps can one feed power?

Up to 34 interconnected lamps at 14.5 W each, never more than 500 W in total on one power feed.

Can I add more lamps later?

Yes. The system is modular, and Pablo offers 12 in extension cables for the connections. Keep within the 34-lamp limit.

Is it safe for a covered patio?

It is damp rated for covered outdoor use. Keep it sheltered; it is not rated for direct rain.
