A large-scale pendant module for long tables, bars and covered terraces: add lamps to one power feed until the run is as long as the room.

We curate Swell String for projects where one pendant is not enough. Each XL Medium module is an 18 in (46 cm) spun-aluminum shade with a brass interior, and the sockets interconnect so a single feed can power a whole run. It suits restaurant bars, lobby ceilings, stairwells, long dining tables and covered outdoor rooms, and you can order modules in the quantity your layout needs.

Installation & planning

• Every run needs one power feed (8 ft cord and canopy, sold separately); order it with the first module.
• Hang vertically with the included 10 ft cable kit, or add the horizontal kit for a flat line up to 12 lamps.
• Plan hardwired power for the feed point; we recommend a licensed electrician.
• Count lamps before ordering: Pablo allows up to 34 interconnected lamps on one feed.
• Choose one finish per run, since shade and cord colors read differently when mixed.
• Keep fixtures under a roof outdoors; the rating covers damp, not direct rain.

Who this is not for

• A single stand-alone pendant: the module has no feed of its own.
• Uncovered, rain-exposed locations.
• Anyone who needs a plug-in light.
• Very low ceilings, where an 18 in shade would hang too close to heads.

Frequently asked questions

How far apart should I space the modules?

A common starting point is one shade-width of clear space between neighbors, roughly 18 in (46 cm) edge to edge, then adjust to the room. Hang a test run at the planned height before committing to the layout.

Do I need a separate power source for each module?

No. The sockets interconnect, so one power feed supplies the run, up to 34 lamps. The feed cord and canopy are sold separately.

Can I dim a whole run from one wall control?

Yes. The lamps are fully dimmable and Pablo lists TRIAC / ELV controls, so a compatible dimmer at the feed controls the run. Check total wattage against the dimmer rating; each lamp draws 13 W.

What bulb does it take, and can I replace it?

One E26 / PAR30 LED lamp per module, replaceable by the owner. Pablo's sheet lists 3000K at 95 CRI and 1050 lm for the US lamp, with the EU lamp at 2700K.

Is it safe over a covered outdoor seating area?

Pablo rates the Swell family damp for covered outdoor spaces. Mount it under a roof or overhang, not in open weather.

How do I clean the shades?

Dust the aluminum with a soft dry cloth and wipe the brass interior with a barely damp microfiber cloth. Outdoors, wipe the shades down a few times a year.
