Pablo Swell Wide Damp-Rated Dome Pendant, Dimmable LED

A wide, low pendant that lights a table evenly and is rated for damp locations, so one fixture works over a kitchen island and a covered patio.

Swell Wide is the broadest of the three Swell Single profiles. Its low dome spreads light across a dining table, kitchen island or banquette, and the brass interior warms the beam. Because it is damp rated, the same pendant can move from an indoor room to a covered porch without a change of fixture.

Hang one over a small table, or repeat several in a line over a long island. It is hardwired and dimmable on standard TRIAC or ELV dimmers.

Installation & planning

• Hardwired to a junction box; Pablo recommends a licensed electrician for ceiling installs.
• The cable is 10 ft (305 cm) and is cut to length at the canopy, leaving about 6 in (15 cm) for connections.
• Use a dimmer rated for LED, TRIAC or ELV type, and match the PAR30 lamp the guide specifies.
• For outdoor placement, keep it under a roof or soffit; damp rated is not wet rated.
• Mix with the Narrow and Medium shades for a stepped cluster over one canopy point.

Who this is not for

• Fully exposed, rain-facing ceilings: the rating is damp, not wet.
• Spaces that need a narrow, tall silhouette: look at Swell Narrow instead.
• Anyone who wants light that warms as it dims: output is fixed at 3000K.

Frequently asked questions

How wide is Swell Wide, and how many do I need over a table?

The shade is about 16 in (41 cm) across. One suits a table up to roughly 4 ft; for a 6 to 8 ft table, plan two or three spaced evenly along its length.

Can I hang it outside?

Yes, under cover. It is damp rated for sheltered spots such as a porch or covered patio. It is not rated for direct rain or splash, so keep it out of the weather.

Which dimmer should I use?

A TRIAC or ELV dimmer designed for LED loads. Pablo notes DALI is available on request. Check the dimmer's minimum load against the 13 W draw.

What replaces the lamp when it ages?

The guide specifies a PAR30 LED lamp with an E26 base, 3000K and a 40 degree beam, so the lamp can be swapped without changing the fixture.

Can I mix it with other Swell shapes?

Yes. Narrow, Medium and Wide share a finish family, so you can hang different heights together for a stepped cluster.

Is it a good fit for a hotel or restaurant project?
