Frequently asked questions
Red or green letters: which does code require?
It depends on your jurisdiction. National model codes allow either color, but some cities and states require a specific one. Check with your local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), or match the signs already in the building.
What is the difference between AC only, battery backup and 2-circuit?
Battery backup signs carry their own battery for 90 minutes of operation. AC-only signs have no battery and must be on an emergency-backed circuit. 2-circuit signs take a normal and an emergency feed. The NX-504-LED is 2-circuit.
Where can the NX-504-LED be installed?
It is damp-location listed. Use a Nora vandal-resistant enclosure where one is linked for wet locations.
What are the dimensions of the NX-504-LED?
Nora lists it at 12.125" × 1.75" × 8.75" (L × W × H), weighing 2.5 lb. The spec sheet linked above has the full drawing.
