The Nora Lighting NX-505-LED is a Die-Cast LED Exit Signs with AC only. Die-Cast aluminum low-profile LED exit signs are as brilliant and visible as standard incandescent signs, yet use a fraction of the power. LED light sources require no maintenance for 25 years–saving greatly on maintenance and upkeep costs. Exit signs are ideal for commercial and industrial standard non-emergency applications where low maintenance and operating costs are a must.

What you need to buy

Power: AC only (no battery): it must be fed from an emergency circuit backed by a generator or central inverter. Input is 120/277VAC, wired from a standard junction box.

Letter color: check your local code before ordering. National model codes allow red or green letters, but some cities and states require a specific color.

Faces: single face reads from one side (wall or end mount facing the corridor); double face reads from both directions (ceiling or end mount across the corridor). Clear acrylic shows the lit letters on a see-through panel; mirrored acrylic gives the panel a reflective finish.

Frequently asked questions

Red or green letters: which does code require?

It depends on your jurisdiction. National model codes allow either color, but some cities and states require a specific one. Check with your local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), or match the signs already in the building.

What is the difference between AC only, battery backup and 2-circuit?

Battery backup signs carry their own battery for 90 minutes of operation. AC-only signs have no battery and must be on an emergency-backed circuit. 2-circuit signs take a normal and an emergency feed. The NX-505-LED is AC only (no battery).

Single face or double face?

Use single face where the sign is seen from one direction (wall mount). Use double face when people approach from both sides (ceiling or end mount in a corridor).

Where can the NX-505-LED be installed?

It is damp-location listed. Use a Nora vandal-resistant enclosure where one is linked for wet locations.
