Best for kids' rooms, guest rooms and studios where a second sleeper slides away during the day. Leave about 24–30" of walkway on each open side of the bed and 36" at the foot, and center the headboard on the wall with room for nightstands (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Couples: it comes in twin only (the trundle adds a second twin sleeper).
• Low windows or sills behind the bed: the headboard stands 46.8" from the floor.
• Thick mattresses on the trundle: TOV limits the trundle mattress to 4".
• Anyone who must use a box spring: TOV does not state whether this frame takes one; ask us before ordering.
• Homes with tight doorways, stair turns or small elevators: it arrives in 3 boxes, and the largest measures 49"W x 49"D x 13"H.
• Outdoor use: this is indoor furniture; keep it inside, away from rain and strong sun.
