The Missoni story
Ottavio and Rosita Missoni founded Missoni in 1953 in Gallarate, northern Italy, as a small knitwear workshop. Their zigzag and striped knits made the name world-famous in the 1960s. Missoni Home grew out of the family's furnishing fabrics, and Rosita Missoni went on to lead the home collection from the 1990s. Today the tableware is designed in Italy and sold through luxury department stores and design boutiques worldwide.
