Where it works best

Hang it under a porch roof or overhang with at least 7 ft clear below it; on an 8 to 9 ft porch ceiling, a fixture 10 to 16 in wide fits. In a two-story entry, center it with the door or a window above, and keep the bottom at least 7 ft above the floor.

Who this is not for

Skip it for an open wall or post that takes rain; that spot needs a wet-location listing. Bulbs are sold separately. It is a hardwired fixture, so it needs an outdoor-rated junction box; it does not plug in.
