The Maxim Spectre Clear Ribbed flush mount is a transitional fixture sized for a hallway, a bedroom, a closet, a kitchen or a laundry room. It comes at 16.5 in (41.9 cm) wide, with built-in LED, in Black / Natural Aged Brass.
The LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace, and it delivers 1040 lumens with a color temperature you set at install. Maxim rates it for Triac or ELV dimming. Clear Ribbed glass softens the light and cuts glare at eye level. The Black / Natural Aged Brass finish fits Transitional schemes.

Where it works best
A flush mount sits tight to the ceiling, so it suits ceilings of 8 ft and lower, where a hanging fixture would cut into headroom. For a room, add its length and width in feet; the total in inches is a good diameter (a 10 x 12 ft bedroom takes about a 22 in fixture). A hallway or closet usually needs 11 to 14 in; in a long hallway, space fixtures about 8 to 10 ft apart.
Who this is not for
It is dry rated, so it is not for a shower area, an uncovered porch or other damp spots.
Why we carry Maxim
Maxim publishes full specifications, assembly sheets and dimension drawings for its fixtures, which lets us answer fit and installation questions precisely before you order.
Care and installation
Dust with a soft, dry cloth; clean glass with a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner, with the power off. A qualified electrician should make the connection. Assembly sheet: 21190 (PDF).
Frequently asked questions
What size room is the Spectre Clear Ribbed flush mount right for?
The 16.5 in size suits a room of about 9 x 7 ft, a hallway or a closet.
Will it work with a low ceiling?
Yes. It is 6 in (15.2 cm) tall at most, so on an 8 ft ceiling it leaves about 90 in of clearance below.
Does it need special bulbs, and can it dim?
No bulbs needed; the LED is built in. It dims with triac or elv dimmers.
Can I use it in a bathroom or on a porch?
No. It is dry rated for indoor rooms without moisture.
