Falcon 52 in LED Ceiling Fan, 4 Finishes, by Maxim

The Maxim Falcon is a 52 in, 3-blade AC ceiling fan for a living room, a primary bedroom or a family room up to about 18 x 18 ft, in Black, Black / Walnut, Matte White or Satin Nickel.

Airflow tops out at 5,269 CFM (119 CFM/W, roughly 28W draw). 3 speed settings; flip the direction in cold months to recirculate heated air off the ceiling. A remote and a wall control are in the box. Damp-location listed: a covered porch, a bath or a sunroom works, but keep it out of driving rain. The finish fits Transitional spaces.

Where it works best

Size it to the room: up to 75 sq ft takes a fan of 36 in or less; 76 to 144 sq ft, 36 to 44 in; 144 to 225 sq ft, 50 to 54 in; 225 to 400 sq ft, 56 to 72 in; a larger space takes a bigger fan or two. Keep the blades at least 7 ft above the floor, ideally 8 to 9 ft, and at least 18 in from walls. On a ceiling taller than 9 ft, add a downrod of about 6 in for each extra foot of height.

Who this is not for

It is damp rated, so it is not for a spot exposed to rain. With its downrod it hangs below the ceiling; on a ceiling under 8 ft, choose a hugger fan.

Frequently asked questions

What size room is the Falcon right for?

The 52 in span suits a room of about 144 to 225 sq ft.

How high should it hang?

Keep the blades 8 to 9 ft above the floor and never under 7 ft. On ceilings over 9 ft, use a longer downrod, about 6 in per extra foot.

Can I use it outdoors?

Under cover only. It is damp rated for a covered porch or a screened room.

Is a remote included?

Yes, a remote and a wall control ship with it.

What does reverse do?

Set to clockwise on low in cold months, it draws air up and spreads heated air back down the walls.
