“Tekateka” is the Japanese word for a glossy shine, and that is the first thing you notice. The Tekateka Tote is made from shantung, a fabric originally woven for dresses, coated with a film so it gleams like patent synthetic leather; Komatsu Matere gave surplus fashion fabric a new use, and the weave still shows through the shine. Double-raschel mesh is built into the body and handles, so the bag holds a soft, plump shape and the thick handles cushion the weight. Inside, a drawstring closes the opening and a large pocket holds your wallet and phone. It fits A4 documents and a laptop: about 11.42″ high, 15.75″ wide and 7.87″ deep.
