Best for

Best for living rooms and family rooms where the whole household gathers. Leave about 16–18" between the seat edge and a coffee table and 30–36" for walkways around it (our advice).

Who this is not for

• Smaller rooms: the footprint is 109.1" wide by 109.1" deep, so tape it out on the floor and keep walkways clear before ordering.
• Anyone who needs a higher seat to stand up easily: the seat sits 16.5" off the floor.
• Homes with tight doorways, stair turns or small elevators: it arrives in 3 boxes, and the largest measures 79.1"W x 45.5"D x 29.2"H.
• Anyone who needs it within days: it is currently on pre-order.
• Outdoor use: this is indoor furniture; TOV makes separate outdoor sectionals.

Buy once: durability and care

Built with performance upholstery, fabric TOV lists as easy-clean and handmade construction. TOV's care advice: blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth (rubbing can push a stain deeper), vacuum with an upholstery attachment, fluff and rotate cushions, keep the sectional out of direct sun to limit fading, and test any cleaner on a hidden spot first. TOV also notes that, depending on the fabric, some pilling or crushing of the pile can occur over time.
