Best for

Best for bedrooms, beside a full or queen bed. Set it 2–4" from the bed frame with its top within about 2" of the mattress top, put the lamp toward the back of the top, and keep 24–30" of walkway along the side of the bed (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Tall beds and thick mattresses: at 22.6" it would sit below a mattress top higher than about 24.5" (our guide: a nightstand within about 2" of the mattress top).
• Outdoor use: this is indoor bedroom furniture; keep it inside, away from rain, damp and strong sun.
