Best for

Best for living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners, beside a sofa, armchair or chaise. Set it within easy reach of the seat, roughly level with the sofa arm (24–26") or, beside a bed, close to the mattress top (our guide).

Who this is not for

• A nightstand beside a tall bed: at 20" it sits below a typical 24–28" mattress top (our guide); look at a nightstand or a taller side table for that.
• Heavy loads: TOV rates the top for up to 155 lb.
• Anyone who needs it within days: it is currently on pre-order.
• Outdoor use: this is an indoor table; TOV makes separate indoor/outdoor concrete and ceramic tables.
