Best for

Best for living rooms, dens and apartments, in front of a sofa, sectional or loveseat. Leave about 16–18" between the sofa seat and the table edge and 30–36" for walkways, and choose a table about two-thirds the length of your sofa (our guide). This one: at 36" it suits a sofa about 54–72" long. A round top has no corners to bump, keeps walkways easy and suits sectionals, loveseats and chair groupings as well as sofas (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Long sofas and big sectionals: at 36" it suits a sofa up to about 72" long (our guide: a round or square coffee table about half to two-thirds of the sofa length); in front of a 90" sofa, pair two or pick a larger table.
• Heavy loads: TOV rates the top for up to 220 lb.
• Outdoor use: this is an indoor table; TOV makes separate indoor/outdoor concrete coffee tables.
