The heavy faceted acrylic catches light along the etched lines, so the sconce looks lit even at low output, and its curling shape casts light in all directions. Where it works best

Use Tartan as a focal sconce in an entry, a stair landing or beside a feature wall, where its volume has room to read. A matched pair flanking a console or headboard creates a symmetrical scheme. In a restaurant or reception area, set the color temperature to match nearby lamps, then repeat the fixture along one long wall.

Who this is not for

Tartan is damp rated, so it belongs under cover and indoors, not in rain. With a 10 in projection it is a poor match for narrow hallways and tight stair runs. The LED is integrated, so the fixture cannot take replacement bulbs, and the acrylic should not be cleaned with harsh solvents.

How do I change the color temperature on Tartan?

The selection is made at the canopy, where you choose Warm, Neutral or Cool White, equal to 3000K, 3500K and 4000K. Set it once during installation and judge it against nearby bulbs before closing the canopy.

How far does Tartan project from the wall?

It projects 10 in from a 5 in backplate. Keep it out of narrow walkways, and allow room beside doors and stair rails.

What mounting height is best for Tartan?

Aim for the center of the fixture at about 60 to 66 in above the floor in a room with 8 ft ceilings. On a stair wall, align it with the landing so the light spreads onto the steps.

Is Tartan dimmable?

Yes, the driver accepts Triac, ELV or 0-10V dimming at 120-277V. Use an LED-rated dimmer and check the low-end behavior before you finish the walls.

Can I use Tartan in a bathroom?

It is damp rated, so a bathroom wall outside the shower spray is acceptable. Do not place it where water can hit it directly.
