The ET2 Serpentine is a black aluminum linear pendant in a snake-like form, in 59.75 and 56.5 inch sizes, with a silicone lens that diffuses its LED tape. It gives 4640 to 5500 lumens on 120 to 277V, enough for long dining tables, islands and open lobbies.
Black aluminum channels hold strips of LED tape under a silicone lens, so the light is even and the lamp is hidden. The 59.75 in size has a 31.5 in canopy and adjusts from 12 to 127 in overall. The 56.5 in size has a 7 in canopy and adjusts from 25 to 61.5 in. Weights are 9.7 and 10 lb, and rated life is 50000 hours. The canopy suits slopes up to 15 degrees. The sinuous black form suits Modern and Contemporary rooms with stone, concrete and dark wood.

Which size for which room
- 59.75 x 13.75 in: 5500 lumens on 40 W, 9.7 lb, overall height 12 to 127 in. A long form for 7 to 8 ft tables, large islands and double-height rooms.
- 56.5 x 16.25 in: 4640 lumens on 39 W, 10 lb, overall height 25 to 61.5 in. A slightly taller form for rooms with ceilings of 8 to 10 ft.
Where it works best
Hang one over a long dining table so it spans about two thirds of its length, with the curves reading well from above and across the room. In a lobby or open office, a single Serpentine works as a ceiling sculpture. Keep other lighting plain, with recessed or simple wall lights, so the form stands out.
Who this is not for
It is rated for dry locations only. The pendant weighs about 10 lb and has a wide footprint, so it is too large for small tables. Dimming needs a Triac CL, or Triac or ELV at 120V, control.
Why we carry ET2
Serpentine gives large rooms a single, sculptural fixture with real output. We carry it for the 5500 lumens and the slope-friendly canopy.
Care and installation
Dust the aluminum and silicone with a soft cloth and wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Have a qualified electrician install it, per ET2. Assembly sheets: 59.75 x 13.75 in (PDF), 56.5 x 16.25 in (PDF).

Frequently asked questions
How high should I hang the Serpentine over a table?
Leave 30 to 36 in between the tabletop and the bottom. The 56.5 in size adjusts from 25 to 61.5 in overall, and the 59.75 in from 12 to 127 in.
Can the Serpentine be used in a bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it in dining rooms, lobbies, living rooms and offices, away from showers and covered porches.
Does the Serpentine dim?
Yes. Dimming is Triac CL, or Triac or ELV at 120V, so match the dimmer to one of those types and test the low end before you finalize.
Will the Serpentine work on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The listing gives a 15 degree slope rating, so a moderately sloped ceiling is fine. Have your electrician confirm the canopy sits flush.
What should my electrician know before installing the Serpentine?
Input is 120 to 277V, weight is about 10 lb, and the canopy is 31.5 in or 7 in by size. Check the ceiling box rating and the joist location.
Is the Serpentine suitable for commercial spaces?
Yes. The 120-277V range and up to 5500 lumens suit lobbies, restaurants and offices, and one fixture covers a wide area at a single height.
