Interval LED Mini Sphere Pendant, 7.75 in, 900 Lumens, Black, by ET2

The ET2 Interval LED Mini Sphere Pendant is a 7.75 in Matte Black sphere of intersecting panels, with a second LED aimed downward so it lights the counter and the room at once. It produces 900 lumens at 3000K and 90 CRI, and the canopy fits ceilings sloped up to 70 degrees.

The sphere is built from aluminum, steel and acrylic, and strips of dedicated LED run in a double raceway behind the panels. The downlight adds a direct beam onto a table or counter. The fixture is 8.25 in tall and the cord is 120 in, so the overall height adjusts from 17.25 to 53.25 in. It dims on Triac. Matte Black suits Industrial, Modern and Minimalist rooms, and the open panel pattern casts a soft shadow play on a plain wall.

Where it works best

Group three at staggered heights over an island or a console, or hang one at each side of a bed for a bedside plan that frees up the nightstand. A single sphere can mark a hall turn or a stair landing. It also works in cafes and boutiques where a graphic form is part of the display.

Who this is not for

Interval is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of showers, porches and any damp room. The overall height highest is 53.25 in, which suits standard ceilings and not tall stairwells. The LED is integrated, so lamp replacement is not an option, and the rated life is 40000 hours.

Why we carry ET2

We stock Interval because a mini sphere with a built-in downlight does two jobs in a small footprint. It gives a designer a graphic black form that is easy to repeat in a row.

Care and installation

Dust the matte black panels with a soft dry brush, and avoid wet cleaning of the channels where the LED strips sit. Have an electrician qualified for lighting do the install, as ET2 advises. Assembly sheets: E21482 (PDF), E21484 (PDF).

Frequently asked questions

How high should the Interval hang over a counter?

Aim for about 30 to 36 in between the counter and the bottom of the sphere. Overall height runs 17.25 to 53.25 in, which fits standard ceilings.

How many should I use over an island?

For a 6 ft island, two or three spaced about 24 in apart looks balanced. Stagger the drops by a few inches if you want a looser, clustered look.

Is there a downlight in the sphere?

Yes. An additional LED source points downward, so the pendant gives direct light on a surface as well as the glow through the panels.

Can it be used on a sloped ceiling?

Yes. The canopy is rated for slopes up to 70 degrees, so it does not need an adapter for most vaulted ceilings.

What dimmer does it need?

It is rated for Triac dimming. Use a Triac-compatible dimmer and ask the electrician to test it at the low end.

Is it suitable for a patio?

No. This fixture is rated for dry locations only, so use it inside the home or in a covered indoor commercial space.
