The ET2 Hover is a 60 in Black aluminum baton for a long dining table, a kitchen island, a gallery wall or an office run, and it can be grouped in rows or crossed patterns. It puts out 2,000 lumens of 3000K LED at 90 CRI and dims on Triac, ELV or 0-10V.

The housing is extruded aluminum only 1.5 in square, so the fixture reads as a thin line in the room, and the V-shaped acrylic diffuser spreads the beam wider than a flat lens would. It weighs 4 lb, which is light for its length, and the 16.5 in canopy distributes the mounting. Where it works best

Use one over a narrow table or hang two or three in parallel above a wide island. In an office or studio, repeat a row over workstations for even light. In a gallery or retail setting, cross two or more batons to build a sculpture that doubles as ambient light, then let recessed fixtures fill in the edges of the room.

Who this is not for

Hover is rated Dry, so keep it out of bathrooms with showers and covered patios. The LED is part of the fixture, so there is no bulb to swap. It is only 1.5 in deep, so it does not give the visual weight of a drum or globe if that is what you want.

Care and installation

Dust with a dry microfiber cloth and clean the acrylic with mild soap and water, then dry. Hire a qualified electrician to hang it, which ET2 recommends.

How long is the Hover and what does it fit?

It is 60 in long, which fits a table or island of roughly 72 to 96 in. For shorter tables, hang it a little shorter than the surface so it does not overshoot the ends.

Can I arrange more than one?

The maker describes the batons as arrangeable in several configurations. Plan the canopy positions on the ceiling first, since each unit has its own 16.5 in canopy.

How bright is one baton?

One gives 2,000 lumens at 26 watts, which is strong for ambient light over a table. Add a dimmer for evenings.

Which dimmers can I use?

It supports Triac, ELV or 0-10V dimming. Choose the control that matches your wiring and test it at the low end.

How low can it hang?

The overall height can be set anywhere from 6 in up to 123.5 in on the 120 in cord. Over a table, keep the bottom of the baton 30 to 36 in above the surface.
