Where it works best

Use Geist in a hallway, stair landing or entry where indirect light on the wall makes a small space feel taller. Hang a pair on either side of a mirror or a bed. For a hospitality corridor, repeat the same finish on a regular grid. A pair on either side of a mirror also gives soft fill, though the light stays on the wall.

Who this is not for

Geist is damp rated, so keep it under cover and out of rain. The light points up, so it is not suited to reading or grooming tasks. Gypsum is brittle, so handle the bowl with care, and the LED is not replaceable.

How high should Geist be mounted?

Center it at about 60 to 66 in above the floor, or a little higher in a hall with a tall ceiling. Because the light goes up, leave clear wall above it.

Which direction does the light go?

The light goes up, washing the wall and the ceiling edge above the bowl. It is an indirect, ambient source and not a task light.

Is Geist dimmable?

Yes, it works with Triac or ELV dimmers. Use a dimmer rated for LED loads and test the low end before closing up the wall.

Can I use Geist in a bathroom?

It is damp rated, so a bathroom wall away from direct spray is acceptable. Keep the gypsum bowl from getting wet or splashed.
