Cortex LED Damp Rated Wall Sconce, Ribbed Glass, 14.5 in Tall, by ET2
Cortex LED Damp Rated Wall Sconce, Ribbed Glass, 14.5 in Tall, by ET2

The ET2 Cortex is a slim ribbed glass wall sconce that stands 14.5 in tall and projects only 2.5 in, so it fits narrow halls, bedsides and powder rooms. It runs on built-in 3000K LED at 90 CRI and 600 lumens, is damp rated, and meets ADA projection limits.
Thin ribbed glass surrounds an opal acrylic diffuser, and a separate recessed downlight in the metal housing throws a pool of light toward the floor. That pairing gives you soft wall glow and a usable task spread from one small body on a 4.75 in square backplate. The 120-277V driver accepts Triac, ELV or 0-10V dimming, which makes it easy to match to residential dimmers or commercial controls. Choose Black for a graphic accent in a Modern or Industrial scheme, Natural Aged Brass to warm a Transitional hallway, or Polished Chrome for a crisp bathroom or Contemporary look.

Where it works best
Cortex works well in pairs flanking a bed, a mirror or a doorway, where its narrow profile saves floor and wall space. Mount it in a hotel corridor or restaurant restroom at eye level and the downlight keeps the floor readable. Pick one finish across a floor plan and match it to your faucets or door hardware for a cohesive scheme.
Who this is not for
Cortex is damp rated, so use it in covered or humid interior spots, not where rain can reach it. The LED is built in and not replaceable, so plan on the fixture as a whole lasting its 50,000 hour rated life. It is a 600 lumen accent sconce and will not replace overhead lighting in a large room.
Why we carry ET2
Cortex packs a ribbed glass diffuser, a separate downlight and 3-in-1 dimming into a body only 2.5 in deep. That flexibility makes it an easy specification for homes and hospitality corridors alike.
Care and installation
Wipe the glass and housing with a soft, damp cloth and dry it, and avoid abrasive cleaners. Have a qualified electrician make the connection, as ET2 advises. Assembly sheet: E11060 (PDF).

Frequently asked questions
How high should I mount the Cortex sconce?
Most installers place the center of the fixture about 60 to 66 in above the finished floor. Because it is 14.5 in tall, that puts the downlight near eye level in a hallway or beside a bed.
Can Cortex be used in a bathroom?
Yes, it is rated for damp locations, so it suits a bathroom wall outside the direct splash zone of a shower. Mount it beside a mirror and keep it out of any area where water sprays straight onto the glass.
Is the Cortex sconce dimmable and with what dimmers?
The driver supports Triac, ELV or 0-10V dimming across 120-277V. Choose a dimmer in one of those families that is rated for LED loads, and test the low end before you finish the wall.
How much light does it give off?
It produces 600 lumens at 3000K with a 90 CRI, drawing 10 watts. That is plenty for a hallway or bedside and works best layered with a ceiling or lamp source in larger rooms.
Does it meet ADA requirements?
It is listed as ADA compliant, and its 2.5 in projection stays within the protruding-object limits for walkways. Check local code for the exact mounting height in your project.
Can I replace the LED later?
No, the LED is integrated and not field replaceable. With a rated life of 50,000 hours, that is many years of daily use in a typical home.
