The ET2 Alumilux Step Light is a 12V low voltage step and wall light, 3.25 in square, wet rated and ADA compliant at a 1.5 in projection. Its 3000K LED shines down to mark stairs and low walls, in Satin Aluminum or White.
The body is aluminum with a 12V PCB module that puts out 70 lumens on 2 W, enough to mark a tread edge without glare. The light is directed down. The face is 3.25 in square, the projection is 1.5 in and the unit weighs 0.53 lb. Satin Aluminum blends with stone and concrete, and White matches stucco and light trim. It is not dimmable, and it is rated for wet locations so it can stay on exposed stairs.

Where it works best
Place one on every second or third step on exterior stairs, or along a low retaining wall to mark its edge. Use the same finish all the way through so the run reads as one line. It can also mark the edge of a deck or an interior stair, if you supply a 12V low voltage power source.
Who this is not for
At 70 lumens, it marks edges but does not light a whole stair. It does not dim, and it needs a 12V power supply. The LED is integrated, so the unit is a complete fixture.
Why we carry ET2
Step lighting keeps entries safer, and this unit does it with a small face. We stock it for the finish options.
Care and installation
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and clear dirt from the face. ET2 recommends installation by a qualified electrician. Assembly sheet: E41403 (PDF).
Frequently asked questions
How high should I place the Alumilux Step Light?
Set it about 12 to 18 in above the tread. On long runs, space the lights at every second step, and keep the same spacing on both sides of wide stairs.
Can the Alumilux Step Light be used outdoors?
Yes. It is rated for wet locations, so rain and snow are fine on exposed stairs and walls, and the unit works indoors on a dry stair too.
Does the Alumilux Step Light dim?
No. The spec table lists it as non-dimming, so use a timer, switch or photocell to control it. Choose the spacing for the brightness you want.
Which finish should I choose?
Satin Aluminum suits stone and concrete, and White suits stucco and trim. Both finishes share the same 3.25 in face.
What should my electrician know before installing it?
The input is 12V, so a low voltage transformer is required. The projection is 1.5 in and the weight is 0.53 lb, so recess depth is minimal.
Is the Alumilux Step Light ADA compliant?
Yes. The listing marks it ADA compliant, with a 1.5 in projection, so it suits stairs in public buildings, hotels and restaurants as well as homes.
