Cavea is a cage of slender aluminum profiles that each carry light along their whole length, so the lamp glows as a sculpture while throwing diffused light down and indirect light up. Egoluce names it after the tiered seating of an ancient theater. It won an Archiproducts Design Award in 2025. Egoluce has made 100% Made-in-Italy lighting near Milan since 1978, working with Italian companies and artisans.

Buy once: durability and care

Egoluce says its aluminum bodies and internal heat sinks are there to extend the life of the LEDs, and that LED units are designed for easy replacement. Our advice for care: switch off, let it cool and dust with a dry microfiber cloth; no solvents on painted finishes. Egoluce does not publish separate care instructions.

Which color temperature should I choose for the Egoluce Cavea?

2700K is very warm, candle-like; 3000K is warm white, the usual choice for homes. Most of our clients choose 3000K for homes and 4000K for offices and retail (our advice).

How bright is the Egoluce Cavea?

Egoluce lists the LED source output as: Short (52W): 2700K 5,044 lm, 3000K 5,200 lm; Tall (90W): 2700K 8,730 lm, 3000K 9,000 lm. Color rendering is CRI >90, so wood, fabric and skin tones look true.

Can the Egoluce Cavea be dimmed?

No. Egoluce ships Cavea with an on/off driver in the ceiling rose and lists it as not dimmable. If you need dimming, ask us about Egoluce's dimmable versions.
