Conmoto Peter Maly Fireside Tools with Floor Stand

The fireplace set that started Conmoto: three stainless steel tools with leather grips, stored upright in a 14 cm footprint.

Peter Maly designed this set because he could not find fireplace tools that matched a modern room. The result is a slim stainless steel column that holds a poker, tongs and an ash shovel, each with a leather handle. Conmoto says this design marked the beginning of the company in 1997, and it is still made in Germany.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and this is one of the few fireplace sets with a true design pedigree: Peter Maly is one of Europe's best-known furniture designers, and Conmoto built its company around this piece.

Buy once: durability and care

Our advice (the distributor does not publish care instructions): wipe the steel with a soft damp cloth and dry it; a stainless steel cleaner removes fingerprints. Keep the leather handles out of the firebox and wipe them with a dry cloth. Let tools cool before returning them to the stand.
